Dispute over the Birthplace of Buddha Boils Again

by

It has been the traditional norm of few Indians to claim that Buddha was born in India. This new piece of news is a propaganda to create hype in the media. Some of the Indians envy the rich tradition of Nepal. They cannot see tourists flying to Kathmandu. They cannot accept Nepal glorifying the tradition of Buddha.

Subhas Chandra Pattanayak has made another news with the same old stories which desperately sought to place the birthplace of Buddha in India. His opening sentences simple mock the whole world which believes that Gautam Buddha was born in Kapilvastu, Nepal.

But due to Brahminical conspiracy, the world is so misguided that the birth place of Buddha has wrongly been taken to be in the Tarai region of Nepal. And, therefore the real Kapilavastu known presently as Kapileswara near Bhubaneswar in Orissa (India) is seldom visited by the present generation Buddhists.

How on earth can he think about conspiracy? Who cared about the importance of the birthplace of Buddha at the time when we started to believe that he was born in Nepal? Now that the birthplace is of historical, cultural and economic significance, they are dying to confuse the people with false information.

The world believes Buddha was born in Kapilvastu, Nepal. However, these stupid bunch of people who are trying to make it to the news are involving themselves into various lame accusations in a desperate move to save their baseless ideas. Subhas writes again:

Cunningham, in his “Ancient Geography of India”, has strongly argued that Rumindei from where the Tarai inscription was allegedly discovered, is neither related to the name ‘Kapilavastu’ nor ‘Kapila’ even as noted historian Dr.Smith emphasizes that the place was never known as Rumindei. According to him, it was a forged name given to the place by archaeologist Fuhrer.

All these accusations are inspired by a sick mentality. These people do not have sufficient evidence and they are trying to confuse and confound the Buddhists. Failures to provide with evidences are supplemented by false accusations to make the points. So, we have to cast doubts on every ideas put forth by these fake historians including Dr.Smith. Then, there is another  so-called historian claiming to have found the real birthplace of Buddha. Subhas further continues his stupidity:

The Hindustan Times wrote on 18.6.1970 that Mohapatra has “concluded” after many years of research that “Buddha’s birthplace was not, as is generally accepted, in the Tarai region of Nepal, but at Kapileswara village near Bhubaneswar.”

But, what credibility does Mohapatra have to claim that Bhubaneswar in India is the birthplace of Buddha? Moreover, we know Hindustan Times is a piece of junk.

Hence, however hard these fake historians try, the reality will persist. Buddha was born in Kapilvastu as evidenced from the pillar found nearby. There are many more archeaological evidences which prove that Buddha was born in Nepal. These people should learn to read history and appreciate the findings of excavations rather than accuse everything as being false. Poor findings supported by illogical arguments does not earn Buddha’s birthplace. Nice try Subhas!!!

(based on Subhas Chandra, Buddha was born in Orissa, not Nepal, International Reporter http://internationalreporter.com/news/read.php?id=1491)

You are correct in arguing that Buddha was born in Nepal. But, how do you derive at the conclusion that Hindustan Times is a piece of junk?

India is a free-thinking, thriving intellectual society where many people make many claims. But, it does not mean Indians as a whole share their theory.

I would request you to refrain from making such sweeping comments as ‘freaking Indians’. This only deteriorates the environment of mutual trust between Nepalese and Indian people who share a common culture.

  2. sanobhai Says:

There are some scientists that think HIV does not cause AIDS but the overwhelming consensus is otherwise. In this kind of research work, there can be disagreements and conflicting claims.

I look at this as one of the claims that is different from the overwhelming consensus on where Buddha was born. If you are worried that if you don’t raise a voice Indians will start writing these articles again and again and make the world believe that Buddha was born. However, from what I have heard, there is a strong group of knowledge seekers (scientists, archealogists) in India who want to pursue nothing but the truth. If I had to guess, overwhelming majority of them probably agree with the conclusion that Buddha was born in Nepal.

Right now I believe that Buddha was born in Nepal. Over time if the evidence shifts, I will believe in whatever the evidence says.

  3. Mingma Says:

The fact that Buddha was born in Nepal is known to the whole world and there can’t be any denying to it. I agree there are some peoples who are trying to confound the people around the world with false accusation and illogical arguements. But no matter how much they try, I don’t think this truth can be manipulated in any way. And lets not take an opinion of some magazine and point fingers to everyone who resides there in INDIA.

  4. RANJAN POUDEL Says:

well, how does it feel to be in the class where your indian teacher will teach you a new thing that gautam buddha was born in bihar! well, i can’t stay laughing so i raised a questiom: sir, can u give me the source where did u find this detail? he replied, ” indian government” ! yeah ..thats the only thing they do providing false information. WEll, liek that 15 student get the new false information about buddhism and gradually there are how many universities in usa and how many indian professor who would love to praise tehir country liek that and can u iamgine what will be influence on this buddhism?
I said, do u know where lumbini is? professor replied i don’t know but i know u can find sources in patna where gautam buddha was born.” and he continues we will talk about this and governments are saying as buddha was born. He stopped it and goes to next point showing some buddhist temple near india.!
how many will be mislead by this and this is all due to we have full of information but may be we don’t have it where people will look for it. If u go find this stuff, most of indian sites will again give the false information.
you have only two choices , stay in the class where u will have to hear buddha was born in INDIA , speak against it or u may get C..or leave the class.

  5. Chinmoy Says:

Well, research is all about testing new evidence and search for truth. If Mr. Pattanayak has written that Kapileswar near Bhubaneswar in Orissa is the real birth place of Buddha, he has done so on the basis of certain evidences. These need to be verified and examined for the truth to be established and reestablished.

It is not a healthy approach to dismiss new claims as ‘impossible’ or ‘the whole world knows about it’ or ‘there can’t be any denying to it’ and so on. Why dont you engage in an academic debate with Subhash Pattanayak so that we know what the truth actually is?

As per my knowledge, there is nothing as an eternal truth in history. Our knowledge about the past is based on existing evidences which may change with newer ones being discovered. It is time you rose above chauvinism and nationalism and looked for truth instead.

  6. Sashikanta Mishra Says:

Truth about anyting can be unearthed only by a sincere and dispassionate endevor with the ability to see the hitherto held beliefs fall to the ground. A purely sentimental approach no mater how strong coupled with indiscriminate use of language to belittle a scholar who has come up with a theory that is at least prima facie acceptable merely betrays the inability to challenge the theory and nothing else. If the theory of Mr. Pattanayak can be demolished by hard evidence, what is the necessity of resorting to such derogatroy remarks about him in particular and all Indians in general? A scientific approach would be to search for hard evidence in support of the theory one seeks to propound as also to embolden onelself to accept truth if proved wrong in the end. Without the above qualifications, which is grossly evident , the author is simply beating about the bush to give vent to his unqualified frustration on being challenged by a scholar of worth.

  7. Roshan Says:

    well, I don’t read jokes…..I don’t like reading them..
But, whenever, I got to read that Buddha was born in India, I laugh and lauch till my stomach pains. And I assume that this must be the exact term which people named as “JOKE”.

When the world world has agreed on this fact that the Gautama was born in Nepal, why R these some bunch of Indians try to mislead the world..?? Will they be able to succed in doing so…..??

OF course, not…….because the people who claim that Buddha was born in India, are less in numbers…..let’s say, 100000 of people…….but in this world of majority…..will this claim of 100000 of people succeed in misleading the world.?? No. But, if the Remaining people of the world (subtracting this number of claiming people)(1000000) declare them as MAD……then everyone will belive it……No one will even think…….wheather they r mad or not……

So, in this world of majority, where voting is done in majority of the people… this is an open fact that, Yes, Buddha was born in Nepal….and not in India……..because the world agrees on this fact as the result was made on the basis of echological and scientifical research by the world reknowdned scientists…….

  8. Sunil Kumar Bhattacharjya Says:

A few questions to all those who believe that Lord Buddha was born in Nepal (1) Do they know that the birth place of Buddha is claimed to be in Nepal on the basis of the finding of German scholar Fuhrer, who was was appointed by the Nepal king. On being questioned by the famous historian Dr. Vincent Smith Dr. Fuhrer did admit that he frabricated the evidences.
(2)Do they know that Lord Buddha taught in his own language “Pali” and Pali was not the language of Nepal at any time in the past whereas Original home of Pali was Orissa.

    • NEPAL Says:

      u twat

    • nepali Says:

you funcking piece of shit, !!!!!!!

    • Odd Says:

What else do you know my friend…
The way you are explaining in here creates arguement about places like Darjeeling, Sikkim and some simlar places where people never spoke Hindi as their first language…they speak NEPALI yet again Indians claim victory over that land? actually when?

    • Roshan Shah Says:

Do u also know that, UNESCO has done the work of all the researches and study which is still going on in Nepal?? According to the chineese pilgrimage, Hiuen Tsang, who visited the birthplace of lord buddha has mentioned in his Manuscripts that there is a mountain Named “DHAULAGIRI” on the northern belt of the site. Can u find that mountain in Orrisa or some other places in India?? When whole of Geography, History, and all the researches have already proved that Buddha was born in Nepal what is the problem with you narrow minded jealous few bunch of Indians ppl disagree?? may be this is all what Indians are…who disagree the world established fact……..

I think that if someone from your relatives tells u that u r son of Mr. So and So..(ur parents original name) then probably u will disagree with that too saying that Pandit has manipulated the name at the time of my father’s batism…….lolz…..

    • Roshan Shah Says:

First of all, How do you know this that a King from world’s one of the most poorest country in the world which was not open for the third world’s countries in those days, appointed a researcher?? Such an amazing and funny remarks from you Mr.Sunil Kumar Bhattacharjya,

Do you have any historical proof to prove your statements?? question for you to answer.

For your kind information again, Buddha’s birthplace was researched by group of Archaeologists from world esteemed organization, UNESCO. and not by anyone hired or appointed by any king or citizen of economically poor country Nepal and UNESCO doesn’t follow such kinds of appointing things before beginning their archaeological surveys or researches. Therefore this is the solid answer for your first question.

As far as Pali language is concerned, I have no objection that Buddha gave his teachings to his followers and people of those era by speaking in PALI language which is still spoken in Orrissa region of India. but just by this statement how can you prove that he was not born in Lumbini, Nepal?? You must be knowing that Buddha spent most of his time in India for meditation, for teaching purposes and for many things because he had left his palace in Kaplivastu, Nepal. Now, it is a very obvious thing that anyone who has lived in a place for long period of time will obviously be able to understand and speak the local languages of the region for his ease and by compelled circumstances.

If your mother tongue is Hindi and if you have to live in america, you will be compelled to learn the local language of america, which is of course English. So, if you can speak English language, will you be proved as American?? or your birthplace as America?? No , my dear friend , that’s not the way………….Also, another very important aspect is that one person can be a scholar of so many languages at the same time during his lifetime……….

For example, I can speak Nepali language, Hindi Language, English language, Bengali language and many regional languages of Nepal. so, if I can speak Hindi language and I live my life speaking Hindi language will I be proved as Indian?? or my birthplace as India?? of course not my dear friend.

If you can speak English language then English is originally an american language then aren’t you an American and not Indian by nationality. Can American claim you as American?? Answer me??

Even people of Darjeeling, Sikkim, Aassam, Deharadun, speak Nepali language as fluently as we do. Now will it be proved that all the people living there were/are born in Nepal?? Yes, of course they are of Nepalese origin by blood relations.

People living in the plain or the terrai region of Nepal speak Maithili, Bhojpuri, Awadhi languages which is also spoken in Bihar, Uttarpradesh of India. Now can we say that all the Indians speaking above mentioned languages were actually born in Nepal and vice-versa??

Thirdly. you are going out of the discussion topic my dear friend, I would like to drag your kind attention to the matter of discussion, we are discussing on the birthplace of Lord Buddha as Lumbini, Nepal and not in India. And you are trying to prove that PALI is an Indian language, which itself is a world established fact now. why are you crying for this thing. We haven’t claimed on which language he spoke or in which language he gave his teachings and all……….

Also you are trying to allege the King of then Nepal as a cheater without a historical proof supporting your statement and I being a sovereign citizen of Nepal have a serious objection on your such a fake statement.

  9. Dr.R.P.Singh ,New Delhi Says:

Subhas Chandra Pattanaik is dreaded communist ,venomous historian, cheat and hungry credit seeker like other pseudo historians of communist lobby of India who have spoiled whole Indian history and culture . Forget about such
bogus articles .They have to earn money to live on this earth . Fabricated and false writing is their business. Ignore such shameless ,anti-religion and anti people sick persons.

  10. Mailaa Bhai Says:

If he can prove “scientifically” that Buddha was born in Orissa, there should be no denial. Most archaelogists agree that Buddha was born in Nepal but based upon findings till now. If we are not sure of what happened at Kot parva (only 150yrs before), how can we be so sure about Buddha’s case? Let us not forget that even if Ashoka’s pillars were really there (at currrent Lumbini), what if Ashoka himself was mistaken in determining true birhtplace…Remember Ashoka was nearly born 500 years after Buddha…

  11. Sajan Shrestha Says:

there shoud be no denial??? yeah there should be no denial that buddha was born in nepal!!! why are some people trying to make fallacious statements to claim that buddha was born anywhere else than in nepal. of course the birth of such a genius should never be a matter of argument! but this debate brings a sense of domination on nepali people. i just cant understand how the hell this matter ever come into being!!! if i were ranjan i would have rather got a C than listen to baseless claims from a professor. and for sunil, you need evidence to support whatever your claims are!!!

  12. Sajan Shrestha Says:

as for buddha speaking pali…there has been no such evidence to support what language buddha spoke.

  13. archi minj Says:

I would rather use a metaphor. Previously it was thought that the world was flat and any person going against this “fact” were mercilessly sentenced (thanks that doesn’t happen in today’s world). Then people realised that the world is round but stuck to the theory that all the heavenly bodies revolved round the earth as observed by famous philosophers and scholars of those days (MAJORITY– MR. ROSHAN); even that was proven wrong in later days. I think this metaphor is enough to make the rational understand. Rest can proceed reading.
The widely accepted fact that Lord Buddha was born in Nepal is an outcome of the work of an archeologist who had some evidence to support his point but who knows wether he right or wrong. The same thing is applicable to Mr. Subhas as well. If Lord Buddha were born in Nepal then Mr. Subhas would be proven wrong else Mr. Fuhrer. Wish Mr. Subhas were reading this mail. He is the best person to guide us. And as far as i have gone through these articles i’m quite convinced that Mr. Subhas’s claim is stronger than Mr. Fuhrer and his supporters.

  14. nima lama Says:

lord buddha was born in nepal and buddha himself knows that i i don care some indian shouting that buddha was born in india

  15. nima lama Says:

hey guys dont take advantage of the size of your country ask urself

  16. Prof. G. Dunn Says:

I totally oppose the myth that Lord Buddha was born in India. Everyone should know where holy Lumbini is and where Great Ashoka established the historic Pillar in the name of Lord Buddha. Evidences are enough to support that the birthplace of Lord Buddha is Lumbini, Nepal.

  17. Anjita Says:

Why can’t people respect the fact that Buddha was Born In Nepal? His Name is Nepali!!

  18. Chinmoy Says:

Its quite a natural phenomena for people to rise up and challenge the facts. Infact we all want to if we can. If there are justificable resaons, then lets see the truth, why adhere to the history with closed eyes?

  19. archi minj Says:

It’s not a matter of belief or faith. And considering the size of the countries, no poll’s gonna happen and moreover no one’s gonna vote as well, at least from this side of the border. Be it Nepal or India, doesn’t matter. As far as the claim goes, the researchers are qualified enough to make the research as much scientific as possible. People who don’t believe in science are free to shout. Rest may help in providing useful links [addresses of web site, for the non geeks 🙂 ] to information to support their point. Truth will surface someday. It’s just the beginning.

  20. sunil lumar bhattacharjya Says:

Lord Buddha must be very upset as there is a conspiracy tp prove him wrong. Lord Buddha said he was born in Toshala and not Koshala. Secondly according to Lord Buddha it was in Majjhima desha,ie in the central portion of India (somewhere between the Himalayas and Kanya kumari).

O’ Lord Buddha please excuse these ignorant people who want to shift your birth place to Nepal.

    • raj Says:

no matter who ever appointed the historian but the truth is that buddha was born on nepal . the powerful evidence is the piller build by king ashoka of india which is in lumbini nepal

    • ssalina Says:

@sunil bhattarcharjya : you r saying as if u hear what buddha said (like toshala and koshala). lord buddha will be very angry with the indians. coz they r lying in the name of buddha just for the publicity. if u indians really belive in buddhism and respect lord buddha then stop antibuddhism by lying and spreading false infomation.

the day when you spread the message that buddha was born in india all the world ,will b the day when false win over truth and devil win against god

      and the devil is you

can you live with this sin?

    • Roshan Shah Says:

My dear friend, sunil lumar bhattacharjya, First of all you please make sure about the name your country itself…is it INDIA?? BHARAT?? HINDUSTAN ?? OR BHARATBARSH ?? you are claiming that Buddha’s birthplace is in the central portion of India i.e, Majjhima desha. Do you know my poor friend that your country called current INDIA was born in 1947 august 15 ?? do you also know that on the very day another country called PAKISTAN was also born?? Do you also know that later country called BANGLADESH was born from PAKISTAN?? If you don’t know all these facts then you should know all these as you are Indian (I suppose) and you should first turn the pages of histroy. the place called Majjhima desha is not in INDIA but was there in BHARATBARSH. And remember one thing my friend, BHARATBARSH and BHARAT OR INDIA are not the same geographically. Therefore, you cannot used this word INDIA when you want to locate Majjhima desha in the global map of present day. You are relating the historical place with the present geography therefore, your claim has no meaning at all and I hereby have objection on your fake claim that Majjhima desha is in INDIA born on 1947 august 15.

You people are still confused about the name of your own country from so many past decades and you are still using this word……Majjhima desha you should be feeling sorry for yourself and have a shame on yourself………

I really have terrible sympathy for people like you who always try to manipulate the history in your favor and have no respect for History.

If you people do not have belief over History of your own geography and country and historical events then you should also boycott History as a subject of study at school, college or university level.

You have said that Buddha was born in Majjhima desha which is geographically, as (somewhere between the Himalayas and Kanya kumari) then you should be also be aware of this fact that Nepal is the country of Himalayas therefore, your location in braces also signifies that he was born in Nepal………..the country of Himalaya.

first have a study and then only deliver your opinion or else you will be proved as a fool in this world of educated and civilized people…..Go get admitted in Nursery again. You really deserve this.

  21. Arjun Says:

buddha was probably born in india, it’s just british scientists wanted to deny india this by saying he was born in nepal, they did the same thing about hinduism calling it the Aryan Invasion Theory, saying that all hindu culture was brought into india by foreign invading armies, where as in all hindu scriptures it never mentions aryans coming into india, it only mentions aryans going out of india.

the british started this coz they were jealosu of india’s historical superioty.

  22. vichitrananda mishra Says:

You have to prove that Mr. Mohapatra’s stand is wrong. What is solid logic against Mohapatra’s stand ? There are so many stands against Tarai as real birth place of budhha proves that kapileswar is the real place.

  23. Visma Says:

He Arjun would u tell me who came first to India – Ashoka or British? Ur type of fucking Indians always fight over something like Ram Janma Bhumi Bawari Masjid. Now u want to start another fight over Buddha’s birthplace. Nepali’s fought with British and defeated them long before Indians did. Why should they do so much favor with Nepal?
R u implying that Ashoka was also a Nepali (just because he believed that the place where he built the pillar was the real birthplace of Buddha?) and hated the Indians or was just envious of Indian cultural heritage?
Ur type of people will invent another theory for every theory that exists (no matter whether the theory has the strongest evidence ever or not) if that did not really attributed anyting to India.
Go find another theory of Relativity write E = M c^3, because this does not just sound Indian, nor did Einstein had any root in India.

  24. Dr. Ashim Shakya Says:

well for this dispute of this article, solution goes like this- Prince Siddhartha gautam : The shakyamuni, was definately born in Nepal ,but Buddha was born in India. YES…If you all see in a different view…the price was born in Nepal and he went to India and got enlightment. This is real true , noone can change it .So all of you don’t argue too much , better go to his pathway.I m a shakya here and i think for me this is true and all Nepalis-Indians will agree with me.Be happy….

  25. Dr. Ashim Shakya Says:

    *** price=prince

  26. Detective Says:

I know there is same copy place in INDIA exactly like in Kapilbastu, lumbini….and some 10 years back India was shifting most of the statute and ancient bricks from Nepal to their place…there is ashok pillar also alike. If some archiologist or scientist will investigate there in india , there will be no doubt at all..Buddha is from India….so may be they are planning to install new birth place in india.I strongly know Buddha(prince) was from Nepal. And i been to Nepal for this reason too.
I heard the news also from swyambu some chir-dhatu of buddha was stolen…rumour is now its in india…wow great…

    I m frm Russia.

  27. Prof. Archiolog Says:

King Suddhodan and Queen Maya were Nepali, The proof is in the carved stone in the palace situated in Lumbini,Nepal. So they are Nepalies…but Buddha was INDIAN ? how can it be ? May be Dr. Ashim’s statement is true.

  28. archi minj Says:

Well Dr. Ashim let me modify your statement a bit. Gautam was born in Kapilavastu (Nepal/India) and moved to Sarnath(India) where he got enlightened. The dispute is over the location of the said place Kapilavastu.

Prof Archiolog, please provide us with some more information regarding the stone carvings. It was really nice to see one concrete argument.

But Mr. Detective i totally dont agree with you. Is it so simple to steal things of cultural and more important religious heritage from one country to other? Nepal has always been our most faithful neighbour and i can’t agree to the allegation of such hipocracy against any of the two nations. As far as the arguments stated in various websites go, the scriptures were moved from one place to other at the time of the great Emporer Ashoka when there was no India nor Nepal nor Pakistan but Bharatvarsh and there was monarchy (no democracy or international politics) which made such movement even easier. Well, you have visited Nepal, please visit the claimed place Kapileswar as well and if you are really interested, please do visit the adjoining places (Shanti stupa at the bank of river Daya where the great Kalinga war was fought and dont forget to have a look at the scriptures there, Shishupalgarh excavations, state museum where the scriptures of relevance are preserved, Khandagiri and Udayagiri as well). Even then, if your idea doesn’t get influenced (not necessarily changed) please arrange a meeting with Mr. Subhas.

  29. Rojal Says:

what is the deal with the conspiracy regarding the birth place of Buddha. lets just believe buddha was born is south asia rather than Nepal or India. Rather than fighting over the conspiracy of the birth place of the preacher of peace..dosent it sound awkwark. Why dont people just follow the path of buddha .. its not important who buddha is or where he is from. All that is important is what was he and what he taught to the world. cum on people no one knows the history even though there may be evidence but who knows what is true. And as Archi minj says there was no india or nepal or whatever in that time isnt that true folks?so live and let live..give up voilence and help the world a better place to live in.
    Peace

  30. archi minj Says:

Thanks Mr. Rojal. Infact it is the teachings of the great soul that should be our consideration.

  42. duped Says:

i just finished writing a blog regarding this and now i see this…..i will say this again…..the fact that siddharth gautam was born in lumbini, nepal cannot be denied like the fact buddha got his enlightment in bodhgaya and died there. fact is a fact, no matter how much one tries to distort or dismantle it, it remains intact. the truth remains no matter how one tries to erase it.

As for sunil lumar bhattacharjya….geez comon don’t get so blind in trying to prove your point that you come up with a totally new theory or idea of your own…what do you mean by lord buddha said he was born in Toshala and not Koshala. Secondly according to Lord Buddha it was in Majjhima desha,ie in the central portion of India (somewhere between the Himalayas and Kanya kumari)….It seems like buddha came up to you AND only and gave this secret information cos i have never heard of it before…..either you have got be conspiring this theory or buddha WAS MESSING with your peace of mind.

You make bold statement such as this yet again….Do they know that the birth place of Buddha is claimed to be in Nepal on the basis of the finding of German scholar Fuhrer, who was was appointed by the Nepal king. On being questioned by the famous historian Dr. Vincent Smith Dr. Fuhrer did admit that he frabricated the evidences…….

Again did dr. fuhrer or dr. vincent came up to likE buddha did and wishepered yes, sunil i was definitely lying and dr. vincent caught me…red handed lol….

Another one here……Do they know that Lord Buddha taught in his own language “Pali” and Pali was not the language of Nepal at any time in the past whereas Original home of Pali was Orissa……

Yet again another bold statement…..nepali language EARLIER was known as pali too…that is why we still call our language “NE……PALI”……..see the “PALI” sticking behind “NE”…….geez man………some conspirator you are but u sould have some strong evidences man not just own theories and so called buddha said this and vincent said that…i can imagine budhha wishepering in your ears..lol….ANOTHER GOOD ONE I HaVE HERE…..did the state Orissa too whisper to you……I am PALI’S HOME…..lol man…hyuk..hyuk…u funny man……u have some sense of humor there….

Lastly i truly agree with ashutosh….it is one thing to stick to one’s belief and make arguments…however it is totally unfair to pinpoint finger at the entire band of nationality and make a judgement becaue like he said…..not everbody share the same thought……peace to all..cheers…

  43. Seaikh Says:

well here is what i say. India is always trying to bully nepal. they have done so in the past r doing at present and continue to do so. large tracts of nepali territory in south, east and west nepal are encroached by india.man! nepal is becoming smaller everyday. now again india is trying to call out to world that lord buddha was born in india, mt.everest is in india. and these kind of shit stuff. someday they’ll end of making nepal like bhutan, under the indian security umbrella. these claims concerning buddha and everest are part of that…

  44. Pratik Chhetri Says:

Does anyone heard of an organization called UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization)?

If not it is under world renowned UNO (United Nations Organization), a common organization of over 192 independent countries all around the world..well..for those of u dont know..Nepal and India both are members of UNO and UNESCO both…and have respect for both of these organizations..

Well, UNESCO, and its highly qualified, well dignified appointed officials have recognized LUMBINI, which lies in NEPAL (though near India, but NOT IN INDIA), as the BIRTHPLACE OF GAUTAM BUDDHA, the founder of Buddhism..

So, those of you who are claiming that Buddha was born in “so called ur orissa state” or somewhr in India, either you are calling these UNESCO officials fools or you figure out what it makes you sound like…duhhh?

So c’mon ppl..accept this fact and stop making fools out of urselves…

  45. Akshat Joshi Says:

This is a depressing discussion. I am an Indian and I love Nepal. I belong to Uttarakhand, a Himalayan state that shares its border with Nepal and we have a lot of common culture and heritage.

History is often manipulated. What we call International borders today had little meaning in the past. Isn’t it tragic that we forget the teachings of these great saints and get involved in pointless debates.

India is not perfect. Neither is Nepal. It breaks my heart to see so much hatred posted here against Indians.

As far as the economics of Buddha’s birthplace goes Nepal does not need Lumbini, it has always been a travel hot spot for the world, until quite recently that is. India is a huge country that has a lot to offer to the tourists.

My grandparents were Gurkha, they looked like Nepali people, they could talk Nepali. They moved to the plains for better job. Years later, I don’t look anything like them. Mother nature is much more active than you may think. Why is it so difficult for us to acknowledge our common heritage and live with it? Why do we care so much about these lines called borders?

So to offer my two cents to the debate fellow humans, I am not sure where Buddha was born. I love him anyway.

  46. amol Says:

Okkkkkkkk then we will take that partof nepal where budha was born as nepalis have nothing to do with the budha nad hinduism.

  49. rahul Says:

I am a pround Indian and I say Buddha was born in Nepal. Why do we Indians try to bully his small nation and tell Buddha was born in India. Let’s not change history please…..Everywhere it is written Buddha was born in India and where it is written he was born in Nepal some phrase like “which is present day Nepal”, “which was a part of ancient India” or “which is on the border of India” is used to create confusion…
Come on my dear Indian fellows…lets be proud of our Taj Mahal and Kanchenjunga and not try to change the truth….
If this is made a huge issue and people do research on this and find Buddha was born in Nepal we dont want to look like fools do we?

  50. sujan Says:

i agree with rahul…why should indians follow the illusion..and also rahul kanchanjunga is in nepal not in india for your kind information..bcoz more than 80% of the mt.kanchanjunga lies in nepal ..

Around 12 years earlier, when I studied about Buddha and his story, it was all clear to me that he was borned in Nepal, and there are a lot of stories and Buddha’s life.

Our books connected Buddhism and Pegoda style to China; and wrote clearly this he got his enlightment in India. But when I grew older I am seeing: political rampage begun by our leaders and Indian movies dispute with the birth of Buddha.

Then what Lumbini is famous for?

btw what is demography of Kapilvastu? Are the people of Kapilvastu are ethnically Nepali? The people of Kapilvastu are called Madheshi by ethnic Nepalis, and the ethnic Madheshis are closer to people of UP linguistically and culturally. The word Madhishi is derived from “Madhya Desh” which include present day UP, Bihar and southern Nepal.

  57. Nabin Says:

I agree, the whole Indian people do not believe that Buddha was born in India. They know the truth, Buddha was born in Nepal.

This is only bogus writing of attention seeker.

If someone knows the email address of the Ven. S. Dhammika from Australia, writer of the book ” Good Question Good Answer”, please tell him to correct his answer for Buddha’s place in his book. He has mistakenly written Northern India as the birthplace of Buddha.

Please ask him to read this site.

    Cheers

  58. dipesh Says:

dude buddha was BORN in Nepal and got enlightenment in India. Some Indians r jealous of nepalese cultures. I said SOME indians. And some indians do agree on the truth thet buddha was born in nepal. Let me ask to some indians. what if china or some other country claimed that Guru nanak was bron in their country huh? it wud b the same situation so no need to argue further. To challenge the birth place of buddha is challenging UNESCO so grow up man

  59. Diwas Says:

Buddha, was born in India, Mt. Everest is in India … what the hell … Nepal is a part of India. That is what some of my Indian friends think. But just becuase some of the Indians think that, it does not make it right.
I would not be surprised if some Indians say that Christ & Allah were also born in their country.

If it is, IT IS…….u don’t have to make fake shoutings…..but, if it’s not then IT IS NOT…..what ever u do…….The fact tthat Nepal has never lived under any foreign domination is the world established fact and nepal has always maintained its sovernity from the day of its birth…Unlike India…….If you want to say that Nepal was part of Then India, then kindly include the exact date of separation of Nepal from India from your pages of history..Don’t speak without proofs……..

  60. Aabhash Says:

Hmm, there’s a huge debate going on here!!
Well, lets remember Buddha’s teaching of non-violence!!
Peace is all what we need, so lets not fight my brothers. Evidences claim that Buddha was born in Lumbini in Nepal and even UNESCO has officially recognized it. If in future, should there be official investigations and evidences supporting Buddha’s birthplace in northern India, then we would have no problem in accepting the fact. At present, he was born here, got enlightenment in India. Lets not fight in this matter!

I have seen through few comments and I cant deny that all of you have those statements because of your belief and what you have studied. But I truely believe that seeing is believing.. Just reading in news article and text books cannot be a 100 % proof of everything. Infact we do practicals and we need practical explantation of most of the things we study.

I have been to Kapilvastu, Lumbini, Nepal. It is a magnigicient place to be in. You can see a lot of buddhist representing the whole world over there. There is chinese monastry, Japanese stupa, German monastry, and many more Buddhist buildings representing their country. And in the centre there is the Mayadevi Temple where you can see the footprint of Gautam Buddhas’ first step. Hey folks just make sure to go and have a look at this as you will as see the great Ashoka pillar just by the side of the temple.

Lastly, you Indians have your great man Bapu (Mahatma Gandhi /Mohan Das Karamchand Gandhi). He was bron in India but he was enlightened or say started his anti-british movement form South Africa. Now, we dont say Mahatma Gandhi was born in Saouth Africa. This applies to Gautam buddha who was born in region of Nepal but was enlightened in a place at India.

  64. Razon Says:

    these indian people are funny.
    1. Do you Indians know that 8 out of 10 of the top mountains in the world are in Nepal?.
    2. Have you guys visited Lumbhini, the birthplace of Buddha?
    3. And are you guys also aware that when British took over India they tried to capture nepal also. We defeated them but we had to lose some important parts of our country that used to be as far as kolkatta.
    4. We want the land back now. We are ready to fight for our land.

    • nasla Says:

dispute about Buddha born in Nepal wouldn’t have been to this hype if Indians would have just kept their mouth shut up before knowing the true fact. but only if they would! ha.
Mount Everest, birthplace of Buddha, Susta. India just can’t stop taking things over from Nepal or what man? and India seems to be taking advantage of being bigger than Nepal! If so then let me remain that india was taken by british. nepal wasn’t. we people fought for it, died for it. but never lose our Sovernity!
Nalapani War is not just a myth. we even needed to give some of our land to british but we didn’t even take it back when they left India.
Just because “HAMI THUKEKO THUK CHATDAINAU”

  68. Surendra Says:

Bhubaneswar, India — There seems to be no end to the controversy over the birthplace of Lord Buddha. The latest claim that the apostle of peace was born in Orissa has been challenged by historian Karuna Sagar Behera.

He said, “The Buddha was neither born in Orissa nor visited the place during his lifetime.” Mr Behera said the claims made in this regard could go against the interests of the state.

The controversy began after it was projected sometime ago that the Buddha was born at Kapileswar, a village near here. Among others, an Ashokan inscription said to have been discovered from the place in 1928 was cited to prove the point.

The inscription was similar to the one discovered in 1898 at Lumbini in Nepal, which has all through been acknowledged as the evidence to point that the Buddha was born there. The Lumbini inscription describes that Ashok visited the place because the Buddha was born there.

Mr Behera said the Kapileswar inscription had already been declared as bogus. “Eminent epigraphist D.C. Sircar, at the 1980 Indian History Congress in Mumbai, had described the Kapileswar inscription as a forged document,” he added.

“Historical claims must be backed by evidence . But what some people are doing is far from the truth. There has been no serious research to disprove that the Buddha was born in Lumbini,” he said.

“Buddhist literature is silent about the Buddha being born anywhere in the Kalinga region, let alone Kapileswar village. The works of almost all noted scholars on Ashoka do not mention the Kapileswar inscription as believable evidence to change history,” he said.

Quoting the 1608 work of Lama Taranath, he said there was no doubt that Orissa contributed immensely to the spread of Buddhism, even in the 16th century, when the religion had nearly declined at many places.

  69. Surendra Says:

    WHAT IS GREATER NEPAL
Greater Nepal is a concept referring to the state of Nepal extending beyond present boundaries to include territories ceded to the British East India Company under the Sugauli Treaty that ended the Anglo-Nepalese War in 1814–16. The idea of a modern Nepali state covering the same territories motivates some Nepali nationalist groups.

    Historic Boundaries
Under the Sugauli Treaty, the Nepalese kingdom had ceded the territories conquered by the British East India Company that spanned from the Teesta River in the east, which are constituted in the modern Indian states of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim and West Bengal and Uttarakhand and including places such as Almora, Pathankot, Kumaon, Dehradun, Garhwal, Sirmur and Shimla and Kangra, located to the west of the Sutlej River in the modern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Nepal also ceded control over kingdom of Sikkim, whose local ruler, the Chogyal, had supported the British in the war, as well as the north of the Rajshahi division of Bangladesh. The re-acquisition of these territories is a goal held by several Nepali political groups, especially the parts of then Nepal integrated into India only because of the consequence of the Sugauli treaty concluded between British India and the Nepalese government.

    Nationalist Cause
The idea of “Complete (Greater) Nepal” motivates not only some Nepali nationalists but a majority of Nepalese academicians,[citation needed] who seek to extend the boundaries of present-day Nepal to include the very territories ceded under the Sugauli Treaty. Some Nepali politicians and activists accuse India of usurping Nepali territory and using the present border and territorial situation to dominate Nepal, which in the opinion of Nepali nationalists can be overcome by a “Complete (Greater) Nepal.” Most law graduates claim that the Sugauli Treaty became null and void on August 15, 1947 when India obtained her independence from British Raj and by the 1950 Indo-Nepal Friendship Treaty. Several Nepalese publications and activities claim the lost territories must be recovered since the Sugauli Treaty has in effect been void by article 8 of the 1950 Indo-Nepal Friendship Treaty and Anglo-Nepal Treaty.

    • Roshan Shah Says:

      Great one brother,
Its the right of Nepal to claim back its all the lands which were given to East India Company (British) on the basis of Sugauli Treaty which was made in early 1800. Since a Treaty lasts or needs review in every 100 years. Its already been more than 100 years therefore, Nepal’s land should be returned to Nepal by India.

Also, as per the International law of Treaty, its said that if a treaty is made between two bodies and if one of the party gets Extinct then that treaty is taken as Dead or Invalid. Therefore, Nepal’s land should be returned back. Its the right of Nepal to raise its legal voice. If India argues or doesn’t returns Nepal’s actual land to Nepal, then Nepal should file the case in the International court of justice or file the case in United Nations….

Greater Nepal is the True Nepal and Original Nepal…..

  70. Nakul Says:

If Nepali people believe truly that Buddha was born in Lumbini, then why’re they so boiled up when they hear its otherwise being claimed by some Indian and Western historians. They should stay calm in my opinion and not panic. This only means Nepalis are more interested in where Buddha was born and don’t care anything else very much. There’re always small errors in history.Even Aryan invasion theory has been debunked recently by Harvard university.Archeological excavations have revealed Harappan sites of Kalibangan,Dhlovira,Lothal,Rakhigarh,Hastinapur which have been dated to 3000 BC and are related to vedic civilizations. This has pushed the vedic civilization to much before 1200 BC which was earlier proposed by Aryan invasion model.

The place being said as Buddha’s birth place in India is in Kapileswar village, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. Within Kapileswar is a small village, almost a part of the larger Kapileswar area now, known as Lembei. Kapileswar is the birthplace of the Buddha.

A stone pillar with the inscriptions of Emperor Asoka, which was discovered in 1928 at Kapileswar and is at present in the Ashutosh Museum, Kolkata, states that the emperor, in the 20th year of his coronation, had worshipped at Buddha’s birthplace at Kapileswar.

The Orissa Museum superintendent said his team of archaeologists recently excavated different Buddhist sites in the state and after carefully examining the discovered rocks and inscriptions, felt they had sufficient evidence to believe that the Buddha was born in the state.

He said his team had found four old sculptures of Asoka in the Kapileswar temple grounds, representing the four stages of Siddhartha’s transformation from a prince to a sage. He added that according to the Buddhist religious textbook Tripitaka, Siddhartha was the son of a small estate owner who, according to the Chinese pilgrim Hieun Tsang, visited the different parts of Orissa.

Bhubaneswar was earlier known as Buddheswar, after the Buddha, while the region adjacent to Orissa’s capital is known as Goutam Nagar, after Siddhartha’s stepmother Goutami, who was also his mother’s sister. In Orissa, Goutami is known as Mousima, and a temple complex called Mousima is still in existence on the periphery of Goutam Nagar, said Patel

So, it’s my request to all nepalese to raise their voice against indians fake fact about lord buddha.

Was of aryan race meaning resembling indian race… In hills and mountains of nepal there were
Kiratis and native asian ,when muslim invade india some indians fled to nepal sorry about this but they were clever and corrupt so they manage to spread indian culture to nepal , so who ever nepalese with aryan face writing comment here is actually indians , i am shocked why they hate indians , coz they were indians… So the point is buddha was indian he was born in indian culture and environment he spoke indian pali language … But becoz that place is now nepal we can say he was born india ,present day nepal. Its little bit confusing , i am frm nepal frm the mountains thanks

  76. Sidhdartha Says:

Yes, Indian friends, you are right that you are intending to say that Great wall is in India, Mount Everest is in India and so many others. Nepal was a part of India. All the Nepalese were indians. Tell me dear friends, how longer you would bully Nepal ? Until the time of all of you indian’s death ? Where will you go after your death ? Why do you try the whole world to make misbelief ? Why are you so much interested to paly a part in conspiracy ? What advantage will you get by doing this ?

  77. Jacky Jackson Says:

As a matter of fact, we don’t even know for sure if Buddha ever existed, let alone his birthplace. The same goes for Jesus, who might or might not have existed literally. But my view is that, all these debates are pretty irrelevant to the core teachings of the two religions. I don’t see why a genuine Buddhist should care about where Buddha was born. Earthly location shouldn’t mean anything. It’s the Truth that matters. If you can’t see through this, I would say you’re not very Buddhist.

  78. vijay Says:

today indians more strong to say that lord buddha was born in india because of some corrupted politician of Nepal they helped india stoling the valuable bricks, statue i still remeber when i went to lumbini in my childhood there used to be lots of bricks of that period but as days going on its thining yes its fault of nepalese that indians are standing for their fake words

  79. Roshan Shah Says:

    Hi, its me Roshan,

Well, It’s really a matter of shame to be aware of the fact that people from neighboring country, INDIA are claiming that Lord Buddha was born in India without any justifiable historical and geographical proof favoring them. It’s already been a world established fact that he, Lord Buddha was born in Lumbini, in the Kapilvastu district of Nepal and no where else in this Planet. A single person can’t be born once at two different places.

If anyone claims that Nepal was part of India and therefore Buddha was born in India then that bunch of people must be tagged as mentally sick people. Because, Nepal is among those few proud countries in Asia which was independent from its day of birth. Unlike India, Nepal has never been under any sort of foreign domination.

Even when the whole of India was colonized and ruled by British Empire; they couldn’t do the same with Nepal. They tried to capture Nepal several times but because of the bravery and the courage shown by the Gurkha Armies; they were able to fight against the British army protecting the national border of Nepal. This is the historical pride of Nepal which most of the Asian countries including India don’t have. History is the mega proof of the Identity of any country or an individual which always stands as the truth before the people which is world wide accepted ideology.

And to the people who say that when Lord Buddha was born in this Planet; there was no any such country named like Nepal; I would like to raise a question to them. If so, can my dear friend suggest me the exact date when Nepal was separated from INDIA? Can anybody show me or mention the exact date of separation by turning the pages of the book of History? Or do you want to say that a selfish country like India who didn’t even left to shallow a small mountainous country like Sikkim; left Nepal in the name of “NAZARANA OR BAKSHEESH”??

The people who claim that Lord Buddha was born in India clearly show that how little & incorrect knowledge they bear regarding their own country & their own history. I really feel so sorry for them. I would like to mention one saying over here, “Little Knowledge is always a Dangerous thing” and is often hazardous. They who claim so should turn the pages of history of their own country & the globe’s once again.

It’s an open fact that India was born on the 15th of august 1947 when British left so called “BHARAT VARSHA” When they left, the country was not used to be known as INDIA. India was born only when the invasion occurred within their territory. As a result of which PAKISTAN (along with then Bangladesh) was separated from the parent territory and later BANGLADESH was separated from PAKISTAN. This is the historical proof which along with the Indians, the whole world knows this bitter truth. Therefore, how can an Indian claim that Lord Buddha was born in India when he himself was born in 563 B.C. when the country INDIA itself was not born???

Even there are majority of Indian people who say/claim that Lord Buddha was born in Lumbini, Nepal. Even it has been clearly mentioned in many Indian Historical books. The fact that Lord Buddha was born in Nepal was not established on the basis of a layman’s words instead this truth has been established on the basis of geographical, historical, ecological & archeological facts and findings on the ecological investigation/research made by the World’s most recognized body, UNESCO in early 1900s.

Unlike India, Nepal reserves/holds many facts and findings which itself proclaims that Nepal is the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Even the mega emperor, KING ASHOKA himself visited and erected the pillar mentioning clearly that “THIS PLACE IS THE BIRTHPLACE OF LORD BUDDHA”. Either the emperor Ashoka must be a MAD person to visit and erect such pillar over there. Otherwise, it must be sincerely and humbly accepted by the people of India as this was recognized by their own powerful king of their history & it comes as one of the PRIME FOUNDATION STONE FOR THIS VERY FACT.

The other historical fact which supports this universal fact is that the FAMOUS CHINESE PILGRIMAGE (KNOWN AS – HIUEN TSANG) soon after the death of Lord Buddha visited his birth place & on the basis of his findings he has written in his manuscripts (which is still kept safe in the Chinese Museum) that on the northern side of birth place of Lord Buddha, there stands a gigantic mountain known as “DHAULAGIRI” Which is there in the Nepalese Territory; whereas, this mountain cannot be seen on the northern side of the KAPILESHOWR, ORRISA which few of the sick Indians are trying to prove this place as the birthplace of “THEIR” Lord Buddha whose existence was never been there in this planet.

UNESCO started their research work under their own supervision and active participation & found many proofs which proved that Lord Buddha was born in LUMBINI, Nepal and still the archeological site is undergoing through its archeological research work and they have come up with many recent new findings which are further proving itself. Some of Mega points which have been found only in Nepal and nowhere else in this planet which proves that Lumbini is the birthplace of Lord Buddha have been mentioned below:

    1. THE POWERFUL KING OF THE ANCIENT INDIA (BHARAT VASRSHA) “EMPEROR ASHOKA” VISITED AND ERECTED HIS PILLAR MENTIONING THAT LUMBINI IS THE BIRTH PLACE OF SHAKYA MUNI LORD BUDDHA.

    2. HIUEN TSANG THE FAMOUS CHINESE PILGRIMAGE MENTIONED IN HIS MANUSCRIPT ABOUT THE PHYSICAL AND GEOGRAPHICAL POSITIONING OF THE BIRTHPLACE OF LORD BUDDHA FAVORING THIS FACT.

    3. THE VITAL “MARKING STONE” WHERE THE LORD BUDDHA, THEN SIDDHARTHA GAUTAMA, STEPPED HIS FEET FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THIS PLANET HAS ALREADY BEEN FOUND OUT AND RECOGNIZED THROUGH SEVERAL INTENSIVE & SCIENTIFIC RESEARCHES.

    4. THE PRESENCE OF MOUNT DHAULAGIRI ON THE NORTHERN BELT FROM THE BIRTHPLACE OF LORD BUDDHA IS ANOTHER GEOGRAPHICAL FACT WHICH IS EASILY VISIBLE ON THE NORTHERN SIDE OF THE SITE.

    5. BUDDHA WAS KNOWN AND TAGGED BY THE TERM “SHAKYA MUNI” INDICATING THAT THE SHAKYA DYNASTY WAS RULING THE PLACE. THE PRESENCE OF “SHAKYA ETHNIC ROOT PEOPLE” IN NEPAL AS ONE OF THE PRIME ETHNIC GROUP OF NEPAL IS ANOTHER FACT WHICH PROVES THE STATEMENT.

    6. THE FACT THAT “PALI” LANGUAGE WAS SPOKEN AT THE TIMES OF LORD BUDDHA IS SPOKEN IN NEPAL AS THE REFINED VERSION OF IT WHICH IS THE NATIONAL LANUAGE ITSELF AND WAS LATTER KNOWN AS “NE-PALI”.

    7. THE OLDEST BUDDHIST RITUALS OF SHAKYA DYNASTY IS STILL & ONLY FOLLOWED IN NEPAL. IT IS NEITHER FOLLOWED IN INDIA NOR IN CHINA OR ANY OTHER COUNTRY IN ASIA.

    8. THE CURRENT FAMOUS TIBETAN BUDDHIST PILGRIMAGE “DALAI LAMA” HIMSELF HAS MADE THIS REMARK THAT “THE ANCIENT CULTURE OF BUDDHISM IS ONLY ALIVE IN THE MUSTANG’ REGION OF NEPAL” AND NOT INDIA OR ANOTHER PART OF THIS PLANET.

    9. THE FAMOUS POND WHERE “SIDDHARTHA GAUTAMA” WAS TAKEN TO BATHE AFTER HIS BIRTH HAS ALSO BEEN FOUND OUT AND RECOGNIZED AS THE “VERY SITE” OF THE FACT.

    10. THE GROUND STONE BELONGING TO THE PALACE OF THE LORD BUDDHA HAS ALREADY BEEN FOUND OUT AND HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED BY THE UNESCO PROVING THAT THE STONES USED IN ERECTING THE PALACE BELONGED TO THE ERA AS EARLY AS 563 B.C.

    11. SEVERAL OTHER EQUIPMENTS, UTENSILS BELONGING TO THE SAME PERIOD AND THE PALACE HAVE ALREADY BEEN FOUND OUT BY THE ARCHEOLOGISTS AND STILL THE RESEARCH WORK IS BEING CARRIED OUT AND EACH TIME ARCHEOLOGISTS HAVE BEEN COMING OUT WITH NEW FINDINGS PROVING THE UNESCO’S TAG AS THE BIRTHPLACE OF THE LORD BUDDHA WAS/IS CORRECT.

    12. ONCE IN EVERY YEAR, ON THE VERY DATE OF BIRTH OF LORD BUDDHA, MINISTERS FROM ALL OF THE ASIAN (BUDDHIST) COUNTRIES (INCLUDING INDIA) GET ACCUMULATED IN LUMBINI OF NEPAL TO CELEBRATE THE BIRTHDAY OF LORD BUDDHA & TO PROMISE TO FOLLOW THE TEACHINGS OF LORD BUDDHA FOR THE BENEFIT & WELFARE OF HUMAN SOCIETY & CIVILIZATION AND THAT THEY WILL NOT LEAVE ANY STONES UNTURNED TO PERFORM THE SAME. THIS PRESENCE OF MINISTER LEVEL OF PERSONALITIES FROM ALL OF THE ASIAN COUNTRIES EMPOWERS THIS VERY WORLD KNOWN ESTABLISHED FACT.

    13. THE RESEARCH WORK OF “ORIGINAL HOME OF MAYA DEVI” (MOTHER OF SIDDHARTHA GAUTAMA) IS UNDERGOING ITS ARCHEOLOGICAL RESEARCH WORK AND LOTS HAVE ALREADY BEEN FOUND OUT.

One prime aspect which I would like to join over here is that, there is no such place in whole of India which has come out with similar type of findings OR WHICH REPLICATES EXACTLY AS LUMBINI DOES EXCEPT other prime places related to Lord Buddha found/present in EASTERN BIHAR & UTTAR PRADESH.

It is really sad to say that even the government of India or government of Uttar Pradesh itself is now building similar archeological site structure as of Nepal just to ill use the people. Also, it makes me feel sad that Indian government is spending its money on such fake claimant instead of utilizing them in eradicating the poverty, illiteracy or in the development of their own country or the state itself.

The another ridiculous looking fact is that they have already erected a small mass of land replicating itself as MOUNT DHAULAGIRI and have already whitewashed it just to give them a feel of white snow…………. isn’t that something funny and ridiculous for the mega country and superpower country like INDIA to try to create such type of illusion on the Indian people and to the people of entire world?

If they are trying to create just a “REPLICA” of LUMBINI in their country, why haven’t they taken prior permission from the government of NEPAL?? Because, LUMBINI is not only the property of Nepal but also the pride of Nepal which happens to be one of the major tourist destination of NEPAL. If India can erect a place alike Lumbini without taking the prior permission from the government of Nepal, Can Nepal also do the same if it wants to erects the REPLICA of world’s most remarkable and beautiful monument of “TAJ MAHAL”??? A SERIOUS QUESTION TO BE ANSWERED ONLY BY INDIANS.

The other thing which needs to be understood over here is that, Nepal has never claimed over the place where Lord Buddha achieved his “ENLIGHTENMENT” as it belongs to India. Nepal has only claimed the universal fact that Lord Buddha was born in NEPAL as “Siddhartha Gautama” & it’s the world’s holiest place on earth for the people following Buddhism and people from other religions too.

I have read few stupid Indian people saying that only Siddhartha Gautama was born in Nepal and not Gautama Buddha because of the fact that, Siddhartha Gautama was only known/ tagged as “BUDDHA” OR “LORD BUDDHA” only after he achieved his enlightenment. And the fact that Buddha received his ENLIGHTENMENT ONLY AFTER COMING TO INDIA AND MEDITATING THERE. THEREFORE, THE DAY WHEN HE ACHIEVED HIS ENLIGHTENMENT HAS TO BE TAKEN AS HIS BIRTHDAY & THE PLACE AS HIS BIRTHPLACE, WHICH CONVERTED HIM TO LORD BUDDHA.

They have further elaborated saying that – Had Siddhartha Gautama not left his palace in Nepal and came to India in search of enlightenment then he would never have been known as BUDDHA OR LORD BUDDHA. On the basis of this foolish looking statement many of Indians have claimed that Lord Buddha was born in India.

I would like to answer this foolish looking statement saying that – what if, Nepal hasn’t given birth to Siddhartha Gautama?? Buddha became Lord Buddha only after he was born as Siddhartha Gautama in Nepal. Therefore, Nepal has never stand its claimant on his logical or intellectual birth, Nepal has been/is claiming on his PHYSICAL BIRTH Place to which entire world has agreed on the fact.

I hope that after reading all these factual statements, all those Indian people who have erected themselves as the claimant for the birth place of Lord Buddha as India and Not NEPAL will learn many things to move their feet back which will be beneficial only for themselves as you can fool yourself but you can’t fool the entire globe, entire planet.

AS the famous saying goes, “YOU CAN FOOL SOME OF THE PEOPLE SOME OF THE TIMES, FEW OF THE PEOPLE EVERY TIME, BUT NOT ALL OF THE PEOPLE EVERY TIME”.

Therefore, my dear Indian people stop misleading yourself and the globe as ultimately the only fool that will be left in this planet will only be you all; and the rest of the others will win the race of life. Try to become well civilized Indian!!! & start learning to respect at others logic, philosophies & the existence………..

Buddha has taught us to speak truth and not to make the ill statements which may hurt other people & feel them suffer. Try to Learn and utilize his teachings in your life……….

    Good day

    • Ayush Singh Says:

sir,i have listened your posts and clearly want to tell u that buddha was born in nepal LUMBINI (lumbini means a garden in pali and btw, pali is no ne-pali its simply pali, originated in india,a distorted form of sanskrit.i want to tell u that from to east there were 3 kindoms, kindom of shakyas (suryavanshi kshatriya-capital kapilvastu ,india today known as piprahwa ,5 or 6 km to lumbini),koliyas(from which buddhas mother belonged to -capital -gorakhpur ,uttar pradesh ,very near to nepal) and mallas(buddha died in kusinara -present day kasia kushinagar )./my ancestors were mallas )buddhas mother was a koliya from niclaul -maharjgunj,again very near to nepal .but not nepal .sir lumbini means a garden in pali language and nepalis claim that lumbini is kapilvastu. this is shit.how can a garden be a palce, capital of shakyas.grow up man.buddha was born in nepal ,no denying that ,but have u ever notice how close lumbini and piparahwa (kapilvastu) are (only a whpping 5 km).lumbini was actually a royal garden on border of shakya and koliya kingdom .now ,in us kshatriyas (shakyas ,koliyas and mallas),it is a tradition that a women before giving birth ,goes to her mayke or her place before marriage to give birth .she did the same, although ,the delivery was premature and she was forced to give birth in royal garden ,lumbini nepal.an asokan pillar stands testimony to thjat. .one more thing, buddha had never been to orrisa ,he was born in nepal(althogh indian mother and father makes him an indian)left his princely clothing at confluence of rapti river and rohini river )border of shakya and koliya kingdom in gorakhpur, he attainged enlightment in bodh gaya, gave his first sermon at sarnath ,,died at my ancestors cortyard in kusinagar (i am not joking ,more than enough facts to prove that, and my dear freind ,there was nothing called nepal at that that time, and again nepal was ruled by many indian rulers, and was in india till 1920s when uhatched a conspiracy and got independent.stixll zr gxurkhas come running to india for jobs.humara mal khate ho or akad dikhate ho.waah .SO GET IT IN UR HEAD,BUDDHA WAS AN ANCIENT INDIAN,ONLY ACCIDENTLY BORN IN NEPAL ,HIS FATHER WAS AN INDIAN ,HIS MOTHER ALSO INDIAN ,HIS KINGDOM ALSO IN INDIA .SO HOW HE IS NEPALI .AT THAT TIME THERE WAS NOTHING CALLED NEPAL.ALSO HIS father mother property palace, everything are in india.fa hien accounts mention that kapilvastu was atleast some 6 to 8 km away from lumbini.also he tells that kapilvastu was on the banks of rohini.for your information ,piprahwa(real indian kapilvastu) and fake kapilvastu (which nepalese call lumbini are parallel and only 6 to 8km,lalthogh buddha was born in present day nepal, lumbini was imperial shakya garden in buddhas time,on outskirts of kapilvastu )see goolge maps if u want to know more .if u want to challenge me then meet me at sonauli border near butwal ,i live in gorakhpur, close to your home,i will meet u and show u evidence if u wanna really know

      • Roshan Shah Says:

        Dear Ayush ,

Thank you for making an attempt to make me understand which I already know, probably before than you. We all know that Buddha was born in Lumbini, Nepal and as you said, it is the holiest garden. You agreed on this fact and that is more than enough. We have nothing to do with how he was born, either accidentally or coincidentally, we along with whole world claims for this very fact that Buddha had his physical birth as Siddhartha Gautam in Lumbini Nepal.

Now other thing to clarify you, my friend, there is no doubt that there are two places in the border region of Nepal and India that sound identical names but are spelled differently, KapilAvastu is in INDIA and Kapilvastu is in Nepal. Kapilvastu is one of the districts of Nepal which can be recheked with the map of Nepal. Buddha was born in Lumbini of Kapilvastu district of Nepal. He was not born in KapilAbastu of India although they are nearby places roughly at a distance of 6-7 Kms.

Another very important thing to clarify you, Nepal doesn’t only holds the Lumbini garden where Lord Buddha was born as Siddhartha Gautam but also his Palace where he spent his twenty nine years of his life before he left for enlightenment towards India. Nepal also holds the place which is the maternal home (Maternal home means Mayadevi’s home before marriage) of Buddha. Nepal also holds the place where Buddha had spent his childhood days playing.

Nepal also holds the Mayadevi temple in the Kapilvastu district. Nepal also holds Museum containing religious manuscripts and terracotta fragments and other antiquities of those era. Nepal not only holds the birthplace of Lord Buddha but also the birthplace other Pre- Buddha, (early Buddha before than Siddhartha Gautam or Lord Buddha) for example, Krakuchhanda and Kanakmuni and the evolution of Buddhism. Nepal holds not only one archaeological site but more than 60 archaeological sites in and around Lumbini circuit.

Nepal also holds ancient places of Lord Buddha Era, like Gotihawa, Tilaurakot, Devdaha, Kudan, Niglihawa, Arorakot, Sagarhawa, Ramagrama. All of these places are associated with the life of Gautam Buddha or Siddharth Gautam or Lord Buddha and bear significance importance. Kudan is the place where Suddhodana, father of Lord Buddha received or met Lord Buddha after he attained enlightenment.

Nepal also holds the place where Siddhartha Gautam was given his first holiest bath after he was born in the nearby pond which is still there as a solid proof. These places have been proved by the series of surveys, research that began as early as 1960s by the scientific and professional team of UNESCO and it is still going in Nepal. The research work is not finished yet till date and each day the researchers are coming up with ancient proofs related with Siddhartha Gautam.

You have written here that King Suddhodana, Queen Mayadevi were Indian and that their place is in India. How can you say all these nonsense things here. Do you have proofs?? where are the proofs?? If you have proofs then whey you all Indians were sitting like a dumb until this day?? Why you people didn’t go to the UNESCO and challenged them against their scientific researches and findings, instead of wasting your time here??

How can you say that King Suddhodana, Queen Mayadevi and Lord Buddha were Indians when their palace has been found and proved to be here in Nepal?? If they were Indians can you show me their citizenship or passport?? or any valid documents that are kept preserved in any of your museums?? Just like we have lots to show you in our museum related with Buddha which stands as the solid evidence that Buddha was born in Nepal and that his palace was in Nepal. Mind you one thing, we are not claiming here that Lord Buddha is Nepali because we also don’t have such kind of evidences. We have so many proofs until this day and there are many more to come but still we don’t claim him as Nepali. We just claim that his physical birthplace is Lumbini, Nepal. which is the holiest site of pilgrimage for billions of Buddhists spread all over the world. It is the world heritage site.

Another thing, how can you can that country called Nepal was not there at the time of Buddha’s birth?? Do you think country called India was there at the time of his birth?? Mind you one thing friend, INDIA, your country was born only on the 15th of August 1947 and not before than that. Therefore, you can’t claim that they were Indians.

Can you give me a valid name of your country at this day?? Is it INDIA?? BHARAT?? HINDUSTAN?? OR BHARATBASRH?? One country can’t have more than one valid name. You and your government is itself confused that what is the name of your country, isn’t that funny?? INDIA was the name given by the British rulers and not by you all. If your country’s name is Bharat, Have you every heard international medias calling your country as Bharat?? they call you India. BHARATBARSH was an era where there were many independent states among which Nepal was one of the state.

The proof that Nepal existed even before the birth of Lord buddha can be proved in many ways few among which have been mentioned below:

Nepal is first mentioned in the late Vedic text, Atharvaveda Parisista as a place exporting blankets, and in the post-Vedic Atharva Siras Upanisad.

In Samudragupta’s Allahabad inscription it is mentioned Nepal as a bordering country. The ‘Skanda Purana’ has a separate chapter known as ‘Nepal Mahatmya’, which “explains in more details about the beauty and power of Nepal. Nepal is also mentioned in Hindu texts such as the Narayana Puja.

Also Nepal can be found in the manuscripts written by the world famous chinese pilgrimage, Hiuen Tsang and in the manuscripts written by CHANAKYA at around 3rd century B.C. Mind you one thing, in those era, where there was many proofs written in sanskrit language about Nepal there is not a single instance of proof where anyone has written about the country called INDIA which was born as late as 1947 A.D..

You have written here that until 1920 AD Nepal was ruled by many Indian rulers. Can you name those many rulers ?? or may be a few will do?? can you?? It is a open challenge to you prove your fake statement as a truth…..Nepal until that time was already unified as a single state. Study first about NEPAL In Wikipedia first then only dare to write about Nepal.

You have also quoted here saying that there was no country called Nepal in those era and you have again quoted in the same line that Nepal became independent form INDIA because they had some conspiracy. What a funny lines you have written my friend, Are you mad or what?? In the beginning of the sentence you have said that, (and my dear freind ,there was nothing called nepal at that that time, and again nepal was ruled by many indian rulers, and was in india till 1920s when uhatched a conspiracy and got independent) Haha……..please tell me one thing seriously, was Nepal there or not?? You said it was not there and again said Nepal was ruled by Unknown Indian rulers and again you said that Nepal got independent from India…….haha……..my goodness!! really, have a sympathy on you, Don’t get jealous of Nepal. Come on!! haha……

Another amazing thing, you have asked us to visit google map to see the birthplace of Lord Buddha and it also shows that Kapilvastu, Lumbini is in Nepal………..Now I request you to revisit the google map site to have a reconfirmation about the fact. Haha……….

Also you have challenged to come to meet you in Gorakhpur, nearby Nepal to prove that you have so many proofs to prove that Buddha was an INDIAN…bla ! bla!! bla!! Group of professionals, scientists and archaeologists from UNESCO have been working contiguously on the archaeological survey and research from 1960 to till date. If you have all those proofs without a intensive research then that means that these team was playing a GILLI – DANDA over here in Nepal, right?? Do one thing, you live nearby to Nepal, you just go to these team members and meet them and show them your proofs which Lord Buddha had whispered only in your ears while everyone were asleep. I doubt they will listen to your words because they know that we shouldn’t listen to mad people’s words…….

Respond me with the proofs…………waiting………..I challenge you……..come up with all those historical dates, events, proofs to prove Lord Buddha as INDIAN born on 15th of August 1945 A.D.

  83. ayush singh sainthwar Says:

listen the truth -my ancestors were mallas ksahtriyas who performed the death ritulals of buddha, shakyamuni died in our courtyard. in kushinagar uttar pradesh.buudha was a shakya kshatriya and son of shuddodana, the king of kapilvastu and shakya empire.near to gorakhpur city in present day u.p.kapilvastu is near indo nepal border in india ,just 1 km inside india.but buddha was NOT BORN in india .he was born in lumbini nepal ,which is only 5 or 6 km from kapilvastu in india.legend has it that in earlier times,to give birth, the mother goes cto her mayke or her home before marriage, this continues till today.she was a koliya kshatriya ,from maharajgunj ,u.p, INDIA.THE route from kapilvastu to koliya capital was through a garden which is in nepal (lumbini means a garden in pali language).it was in this garden that her mother gave birth to buddha(IN NEPAL).AT THE TIME OF HER BIRTH OR SOON AFTER THAT HER MOTHER PASSED AWAY.
so it should be clear to u all ,buddha although born in nepal, lumbini, never had anything to do with nepal, his father was ruler of kapilvastu ,india ,his mother also indian, which makes him an indian .also buudha was niether born in orrisa nor in bengal nor bihar .he was an indian ,although accidently born in LUMBINI nepal.also buddha didnt even looked like a nepali .he was born into one of the purest breed of indian kshatriya(no chinese or japani looks).he lived next 29 years in kapil vastu(INDIA),LEFT HIS PRINCELY CLOTHING AT CONFLUENCE OF RAPTI AND ROHINI RIVER,IN GORAKHPUR,A BIG CITY IN U.P (NEAR NEPAL TERAI).THE DESCENDENTS OF BUDDHA STILL LIVE IN AND AROUND GORAKHPUR REGION IN UTTAR PRADESH.VERY FEW SHAKYAS LIVE IN NEPAL.

Hey my foolish friend, Do you know when your country NDIA was born ? If you are really poor in your HISTORY and if I have to remind you about your own history then let me remind you one fact.

The country India that you have used at several places in your comments was born on august 15 1947 when British left your place and when Pakistan along with Bangladesh was separated from it. And Buddha was born before 1947. Therefore, have a correction in your comments dear. And after knowing that Buddha was born in NEPAL you are still saying that though Buddha was born in Nepal; it has nothing to do with Buddha?? R u sick??

Mind you one fact that Nepal holds unlike you INDIANS have. Nepal had never been under any foreign dominations. Nepal was Independent from its early birth. The place where Buddha was born lies completely in then and now Nepal.

If Lumbini was Indian part then how come that it is now in NEpal?? do u selfish indian people gave it to Nepal??? Can u even imagine India doing this………lol ??

Study Sugauli Treaty between Nepal and East India Company (Then British government who were ruling you all Indians) then you will realize the actual facts………Do not write without knowing and without proof because you will be proved as a fool………Mind it!!

      • Roshan Shah Says:

What Sorry?? You can’t reject the facts just by typing SORRY……..quote your facts……you don’t have anything which supports your claim therefore you always say that History is wrong , even google is wrong coz google also shows that kapilvastu is in Nepal……….Give me your points numerically which proves that Lord Buddha was born in India…………

Oky now who the hell are you to teach me about Lord Buddha?? You can’t even claim in correct way, say, Kapileshowr, Orrisa , not Kapilvastu orrisa……

I am a Nepalese and I feel very sad that I have to give the geographical knowledge about India to an Indian. Shame on you that you have no knowledge about geography of your own country………..Let me inform you that Kaplivastu is in Uttarpradesh state of India, not in the Orrissa state of India. Therefore, after taking birth in Lumbini Nepal which is one of the holiest place of the Kaplivastu district of Nepal he went to Uttarpradesh India where he got enlightenment and he reached orrissa only while spreading the teachings of buddhism therefore he can’t be born in Kapileshowr of Orrissa. Also the location of Kapileshowr, Orrisa and Kapilvastu Nepal are at at greatest distant which is not a nearby place for Nepal nor for India.

Therefore study the geography and even the historical books properly. And most importantly, don’t study the book which has been written by you, yourself. Study the books those have been written by famous writers.

If you say that Buddha was born in India then your ministers are the most fool person in the entire world. He always gathers in Lumbini Nepal on the day of birth of Lord Buddha along with the misters of the countries following Buddhism. Why do you think he comes to Lumbini Nepal?? Is he a fool?? or he hasn’t taken any tuition classes from you regarding all these nonsense things that you are presenting here as a claim………..lol

There are two places with identical names One in Nepal and other in India. You are confused about the originality of the place. I have a friend whose name is also Santosh and that guy is a Nepalese and lives in Nepal. So why should we argue on who is the real Santosh ?? because there is no worth of arguing in such a foolish thing. Similarly, many places of India and Nepal have same name. I am not saying that you don’t have Kapilvastu. You do have it. And you also can’t deny this fact that we also have the place with same name from the day Nepal is in this earth. I have given you so many points from the book of history and you said that there has been incorrectly in the book of History. Therefore, I thought that you will believe in current present book or encyclopedia. Therefore, I am giving you this link for you to go and read the fact which has been written in world famous encyclopedia site, the Wikipedia.

      • AYUSH Says:

first of all ,duly respecting nepalese citizens,i would like to prove and say that lumbini is indeed the birthplace of lord buddha ,some 5 6 km away from indian border ,secondly it is also a truth that buddha was a ruler from the solar ishvaku dynasty ,whose capital was at sravasti and sakyans were one of the purest solar dynasty rulers.many nepali sites claim he was a mongoliod ,he wasnt and was a normal indo aryan guy .he and lord rama ight have lokked qutite similar cos both were from same dynasty.now let me clarify you that there is still doubt between the location of kapilvastu .there are two posible sites -tilruakot and piprahwa .both sites are closed to each other ,just 10 km away .all these region comes in the buddhist circuit .both goverments have named one one district in their provinces as kapilvatsu .now as you want to say nepal was never dependent on other country, but the fact is nepal is in the same league as in india ,was ruled by asoka from patliputra ,atleast the terai areas of nepal came under his rul otherwise he would not have erected the pillar at lumbini.wikipedia cant be the authentic source of information . buddha was BORN IN LUMBINI NEPAL ,6 KM FROM INDIA ,HIS FATHER WAS FROM INDIA ,KAPILVASTU PIRRAHWA ,UP NEPAL BORDER ,HIS MOTHER A NEPALI (BUT INDO ARYAN KOLIYA PRINCESS)(SITA WAS ALSO NEPALI ,INDO NEPALI MARRIAGES WERE COMMON AND ARE STILL VERY COMMON IN TERAI)

  86. Jitendra Says:

some of the claim about the birthplace of Buddha seems humorous here . As internationally approved organization admits that Nepal occupy the land/ geography through lots of testimonials and proofs .but the thing from the side of few Indians it is twisted , some Indians say , yes, he was born in Nepal, some say in orrisa , some say uttar pradesh india , some even say although Buddha born in Nepal he is not from Nepal . making falls words about all claim against birth place lumbini, nepal what india wants to prove ? otherwise all countries of the world accept Nepal”s claim .

First – historically ,nepal was born early then presently called country india . Before this present india was fragmented in to different dynasties and there were different rulers . British made them together and ruled them . but nepal was existed as different country ever so logically nepal is for granted all traditional value than india was spoiled by british , they dont have proper traditional culture . Bhart varsa means era , in those days there r small kingdoms among them nepal still exists . so historically nepal is main source of hindu culture which nowadays several indians follow it .

second – creation of myth is famous in india .in one way culture of myth making is their entire tasks. However britsh civilized them still their hidden instinct can be seen in claiming of birth place of buddha .

third – just because the west says indians u call ur self indians . can u accept the monkey name given by the west and forgetting real the name .

forth- Himalaya is the root of culture of south asia because all the hindu religious story depicts the connection of himalaya and it is situated in nepal .

fifth- india was born right after british came their land otherwise present india was nameless .but nepal is not given name by west it was there and now too.only because india is demographically and geographically largeness do not signify indian culture . we know that Greek and Roman culture are the root of western culture same way nepali culture is latter known as indian culture because west call like this .

so , there is nothing to be proud as indian given name by west as a monkey name . replace it and correct it with as nepali civilization and culture

Hey friends what are you fighting for and using so rough language to abuse each other? None can fool all forever. We cann’t change the fact. Research will prove that where Buddha was born. But the fact is that he has taught us peace and we shameless creatures are fighting against his principles.
We must accept the fact that in Indian there some people who fight for birth places of God and lords. They are making fool to so many Indians some time on the ground of Ram Janmabhoomi, some times Babari Masjid and sometime for other sort. It is only for politics. But for most of Indian citizens do not have to take from all these lafadas the same is in Nepalese.

After all all our fight will not prove any thing since it is not authenticated. There are so many Indian who even don’t know Nepal is a separate country because they are ignorant. Then how can they know about Lumbini and Kapilvastu? Some dear friend even don’t know Kapilvastu is one district within Lumbini. And some don’t know Orrisa they only know South India. while they are in real existance at present day and all of us can go there and see the fact. If we don’t know the fact which are infront of us then how can you fight on the matter of 2500 years ago?
Leave it there are many people who know more than us and they also know the fact and visiting Birth place of Lord Buddha regardless of your fight.

  93. kirpan Says:

As a Sikh perhaps I can offer a clearer view of what Indians are trying to convey by using an example–Guru Nanak is Punjabi–but was born in a location that resides in modern Pakistan.

Does that make Guru Nanak Pakistani? Notice that I didn’t say he was Indian–that is because to him, this word didn’t exist.

When we are talking about the times of the living Siddhartha–the name or terms used to describe ancient India and all her territories by the inhabitants was Jambudipa, the land of the Rose Apple. This included modern Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan etc. This land had many city/states, who in a sense shared a common culture and world view. In this time people were free to move and settle between kingdoms all over Jambudipa and did so frequently joining opposing state armies, becoming priests in one and farmers in another etc.

Much later in history Nepal was invaded by the Tibetans–that is why some people look like a mix of Indian and Tibetan. At the time of Siddhartha this was not the case as people in Nepal would have looked like modern Indians.

The reason why Buddha came to be enlightened/taught in India is not because he traveled to a different country but because to him it was all Jambupida, he was merely in a different city state. It is the reason that no matter where he taught he was not considered a foreigner.

So saying he was born in the current territories of Nepal is correct–but he was not Nepali, he did not share the culture of Nepal, and neither is he Indian, as the current term is used. In a sense you could say he Jambudipian as is every Guru/Rishi/Sidda/buddha that has come out of the land of the rose apples.

And perhaps in the future we will all see India, Nepal, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri lanka etc as our ancestors did and not see borders. So do not fight about invisible lines created by actual foreigners who were born elsewhere.

    • Roshan Shah Says:

Hey!! U have included few facts and few the myths………Let me make u aware of you one fact, being a citizen of nepal and being well aware of the Nepalese history, I might be the right to speak on this matter.

Nepal was never ever invaded by any country, be it Chinese (Tibeteans) or Indians. but yes, british did try to invade nepal but were unable to do so……….Nepal lost one third of it original land due to the treaty between Nepal and East India company, government ruling India (british) Also nepal batteled with tibetans and they lost with nepalese side, even Nepal captured Mustang valley of Tibet, now in Nepal. therefore, geographically and historically, u have lesser knowledge about Nepal. Buddha was born in then Nepal and also in modern nepal. Lumini was never a part of India…….India didn’t give it to nepal nor british handed it over to nepal. it was there from the early day of the birth of Nepal. therefore, u can say that he was not nepali citizen as at that time, there was no formality of giving citizenship. He didn’t bear the one from Nepalese government side nor from the Indian side. Therefore, the debater over here is only that where was he born, and not about was he a nepalese citizen or an Indian. So, please read the topic aboive first clearly and then only deliver your opinion.

But, one thing shouldn’t be discarded that Buddha lived his 29 years of his life in Nepal in the palace and left the palace and went to India for the meditation. fortunately, Gaya happened to be the place where he was enlightened…. So, none in this world can claim that he was indian, or, nepali, also none can claim that he was born in India………..

    @ santosh,

You have such a cheap kind of explanation which doesn’t have any proof in the history. This is what you think or a bunch of people alike you believe in or think about. But in reality its just a fake. So, you want to prove that millions of people who believe in Buddhism as a fool and are ignorant or innocent of all these things?? Why only you are there to support your claiming and why aren;’t any Indians supporting you in this talk?? If you think that he was born in Orrissa then where is the archelogical proof of the Stepping stone where lord buddha stepped his first step after taking birth in this earth?? why is it in Nepal?? or that king of India brought it to Nepal and placed it 1000 foot under the mud?? Can you make me understand?? If he was born in Orrissa then why in so many of the Indian books published by the Indian publishes have mentioned that he was born in foothills of Nepal?? Have u every gone through the pages of books ??? or you are just talking like a mad which have no meaning??

Also, if Buddha was born in Kapileshowr of Orrissa, India, then why did they erect a replica of Lumbini in Uttar Pradesh in spite of the fact that its already in your country?? why would Indian government waste billions of Indian currency just to build a replica of Lumbini?? Can you explain me?? what you are talking is just like a baby who has been taught to speak in this way. Also, Indian government has recently designed a famous buddhist circuit for the tourists in which they have included all the important places related with Buddha like, Gaya, Sarnath, Nalanda university and most importantly, LUMBINI OF NEPAL too……where they have a program to take the tourist to Lumbini Nepal and make them stay there for whole one day.Why do you think Indian government has included LUMBINI in their Buddhist Circuit design when LUMBINI has nothing to do with the Buddha??

I have full sympathy on you my friend but the world established fact is that he was born in Lumbini Nepal. I am waiting for your explanation. Please explain what I have mentioned in my writing and please respond with the solid proof to explain me about your words that you have mentioned above.

    • santosh Says:

      • Roshan Shah Says:

If that is the case then could you please explain me why Indians government is wasting money on building a replica of Lumbini in Uttarkhand of India where they have also mentioned in the signboard there that, THIS IS LUMBINI AND THIS IS THE BIRTHPLACE OF LORD BUDDHA?? I think you are the only one fool lelft in India. If you say that sometimes history is also not true then that means we have to believe in your sayings and tear the pages of history right?? OMG! you are at the top of all, may be you are a god who can see the past, may be you were buddha’s father suddhodana in those days………..hmm……..interesting this is that you have no proof to prove your saying but just words saying that one day truth will come and I am sure that that day is gonna be the end of earth. may be the 21/12/2012. Really, I am finding your words so funny…………haha

      • santosh Says:

yeah friend, you are right. Thanks for your beautiful calling that is “FOOL”. but one think you should know that, always people laugh at a “FOOL” because, what a fool is saying that is true and nobody in this world can change his word even history or anything.

And i am the fool who is saying that The sun never rises or sets. can you change it?.i know nobody…..

  98. Roshan Shah Says:

Oky my dear, when there is a question asked in an examination about the birthplace of Lord Buddha, you answer it as Kapileshowr, Orrissa, India and get zero marks and I will answer it as Lumbini, Nepal and get pass. You keep on repeating the same incorrect answer as long as you study and blame the teachers for making you fail.

Most of the great people of the past were tagged as FOOL and latter they were proved to be a great human beings because they had the proof they proved themselves. They didn’t take too long time to prove themselves but here is lack of proof. Give proofs and make the people believe………I repeat again give PROOFS. without a proof you can not prove anything no matter how hard you try and how higher u shout. I am waiting for proofs. Next time don’t waste your words without proofs. Study books and take out proofs from it and mention them over here. I am waiting for your proofs as I have already mentioned the world proved facts as proofs.
