Breaking News: Ambassadors Called Back

In what is seen as a campaign to punish all those people who favored the King against the desires of the people during the last couple of months, many ambassadors to foreign countries have been called back. Kantipur writes that the ambassadors for the countries India, China, France,US,UK, Japan, Russia, Pakistan, Qatar,Thailand, Myanmar and Saudi Arabia are among those called back from their respective duties in those countries.
In the same note, all the political appointees made after Gyanendra took power have also been dismissed by the decision of the council of ministers, writes Kantipur. This might be a positive step considering the sentiments of the people. However, who are going to be the next batch of appointees? Are these politicians going to have in-fighting over the nomination for these posts again? We are yet to see further developments in this regard.
What do you have to say on this?

Good work. We are looking for capable candidates this time, not the “bhat” intellects of political parties.

I suppose this is not a bad start. However, this is the least of our problems… I think the political leaders are too eager to appoint their cronies as ambassadors to these countries.
I am not for these Royal cronies who were appointed ambassador but is this really a priority right now???? WHF

    Agreed bhudai..
It is a good step as I said earlier but of these freaks are going to have fight over who to nominate…then we are into a deep shit again…

We will keep track of what they do now. If there is any foul play, those responsible will have to answer it in court. There is no escaping this time. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

I see why you are angry but yes, this site is for sensible people only. Should you decide to spread your venom for some reasons previously identified, email me, but please get out from such a low standard.

I think recalling the ambassadors is an unnecessary distraction right now. I am not sure about other political apointments within the country.

I would have guessed making preparation for peace talks would be a much higher priority. But apparantly not.

Look Madhuraman was not called back from NY. He was appointed by Raja G but since he is a big Girija Chumcha they left him alone. Ambasador appointments were always used to reward chamchas. As a result we have some of the worst ambassadors who are totally incompetant idiots. In places like Saudi Arabia or other middle east country it makes a big difference because we have many workers who need assistance etc. Even in other countries I have seen our ambassador make a fool of himslef and get a frown from the diplomatic community! Looks like the parties are back to their old ways!

  12. coffeemug Says:

Ambassadors can be called back anytime, but can the talks with maoists be delayed, I guess the present government should get their priorities right

You are right but Nepalese sentiments should also be respected. They want to see more action from the government in favor of people. I think this is a positive step and I believe it is meant to satisfy the general nepali people.
But yes, the main priority should be the peace talks and I think they are working on it. However, we should constantly remind them of the goals of the movement.
